Hole 1 Re-designed Green Image on The Way Soon
RISK
Putts from above hole very dicey - do your best to play below the flag, primary slope is N->S, very slight slope E->W
Disaster awaits a mishit or ill advised second shot that lands in native area left or just beyond fairway bunker - safe play is simple: aim well right of bunker to take native out of play and also get best angle of approach into the green
Landing zone has slight tilt left to right; tee shots near the right bush can bounce into bush; safest tee shot is down the middle and better to err a little left than right
If you’re fighting shots going right, consider using something less than a driver off the tee to end up short of bush and eliminate the risk of disaster on the first shot of the day. You can make it up on your next shot
REWARD
Some players may be able to reach green in two, though not many from Black tee. If tee shot is played to right side of fairway, a second shot shaped a bit right to left is ideal, aimed right through the gap in bunkers. If tee shot finds left side of fairway, it is possible to hit a high left to right shot a hair left of green and upon landing ball will bounce right and onto the green, but this approach brings possibility of going OB into play. Add a couple clubs to the yardage to account for the elevation.
